HON. JULIUS M. TITLE (Ret.)

Judge of the California Superior Court, Los Angeles, 1970-1984. Judge of the California Court of Appeal, 1981 and 1984. Judge of the Los Angeles Municipal Court, 1966-1977. He served in most departments of both courts, including law and motion, writs and receivers, settlement conferences and civil and criminal trials.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALTIES

In private practice, Judge Title was partner in the law firm Title, Tannenbaum & Kaplan, where he specialized in business, commercial, and general litigation. Since 1984 Judge Title has been engaged extensively in all types of dispute resolution, including arbitrations, references, special master assignments and judge pro tem assignments.

Judge Title’s areas of expertise include commercial, garment industry disputes, real estate, construction, torts, trade secrets, securities, personal injury and professional liability matters.

Judge title taught extensively in trial procedure and practice courses for programs sponsored by the California Bar and judicial organizations. Presently, Judge title is an Adjunct Professor of law in trial practice and advocacy at Whittier College School of Law.

SPECIAL HONORS AND MEMBERSHIPS

  • Former member of faculty at California Judicial College and the National Judicial College
  • Served as chairman of the Benchbook committee of the California Judges Association which produced the Civil Trials California Judges Bench book
  • Author of numerous articles and essays for many of California’s major publications. Judge Title’s articles on trial related subjects have appeared in the California State Bar Journal, the American Bar Association Journal and the Judge’s of the American Bar Association
